There’s a Whole World of Adventure Waiting at Summer Camp!
July 20, 2020 Update: Thank you so much for your continued patience and understanding as Baltimore Woods has navigated the very different world of operating a summer camp program this year. Our Summer Nature Day Camp is open on-site, with reduced numbers and new safety protocols. We believe that children need camp, and need our kind of nature-play based camp in particular right now.
We continue closely monitoring the evolving requirements at the state and local level related to summer camp operations and have based our protocols on the most recent guidelines offered by the CDC and the American Camp Association. You can click here to review a set of FAQs that provide an overview of these protocols here.
Part of these updated safety protocols included the need for us to closely evaluate and reduce our weekly camp capacities to maintain camper and staff safety. As of July 20, we have reopened registration and waitlists for the weeks of July 27 – August 28. Visit the camp registration portal page
Summer Nature Day Camps start just after 4th of July and continue through the summer until the end of August. Choose from traditional camp to specially-themed camps designed to focus on specific areas of nature exploration. Our camps are for children in grades kindergarten through 8th. Camp runs from 9am-3pm Monday-Friday.
Traditional Camp
For Children in Grades K-8
This is the core of our summer camp programming, week long day camp adventures that promote discovery, physical fitness, problem-solving skills, social interaction, and awareness through direct contact with the natural world. Campers will find crayfish in the streams, build forts on Peanut Hill, explore the wonders of the beaver pond, catch frogs at Phillips Pond, build a campfire, roast hot dogs, get up close and personal with the swamp, play classic Baltimore Woods camp games like Camouflage and Kick the Can, make new friends, learn about the trees and birds, and get connected to the natural world in real and meaningful ways. Nature’s Little Explorers
Half Day Camp for Children Ages 4 and 5
Important Update for Summer Camp 2020 Season: We are sad that we will not be able to host our summer camp for preschoolers on-site this year due to COVID-19, but we are glad to share exciting news with you – Nature’s Little Explorers summer camp is going virtual! With the same great weekly themes and daily check-ins with a counselor, your little one will still have the opportunity to learn and explore. Join us for live lessons and interactions with animals, crafts, and daily activities that encourage your child to get outside! They’ll have the opportunity to share their discoveries with their counselor and fellow campers every morning and spend active time in nature everyday. At the end of the week we’ll come together one last time to share our favorite discoveries from our outdoor adventures with a virtual celebration!
