Delve Deeper into Nature at Voyager Camp!
For Children in Grades 5-8

Baltimore Woods is offering special themed camp sessions for experienced campers looking to try something new or delve deeper into natural history and science concepts.  Led by our experienced staff educators, these camps promise to be packed with fun and discovery. Camps meet daily from 9am-3pm.

Session 1 July 6-10

Weird and Wonderful

Rumor has it that there are strange things living in Baltimore Woods…wonderfully weird plants and animals that defy imagination. This week we’ll investigate these strange rumors as we explore the ponds, streams, fields, and forests to find the most bizarre living things you’ve never heard of. Get ready to have your mind blown!

Session 2 – July 13-17

Nature Documentary Film Camp

Join us in The Woods to discover the exciting world of nature documentaries! Learn all the ins and outs of film making from storyboards and filming to editing and production. Each day we’ll explore different skills and techniques out on the trails to capture nature in action and create one-of-a-kind documentaries.

Session 3 – July 20-24

Wilderness Survival

Sometimes at camp we find ourselves out in the forest, in the rain, a little chilly, trying to start a fire to keep warm . . . and sometimes it’s on purpose! Add a few tricks to your outdoor survival toolkit this week as we put our skills to the test!

Session 4 – July 27 – July 31

Raiders of the Lost Woods

Get out your big hat and your adventure clothes! Spend an epic week following cryptic clues and tattered maps in search of lost artifacts. Use your mind and your body to pass physical challenges and solve puzzles as you journey through the dark depths of the Lost Woods. Do you have what it takes?

Session 5 – August 3-7

Mammals!

There are many mammals that call Baltimore Woods their home: voles, moles, beavers, foxes, coyotes, and more. This week we will explore the lives of our warm-blooded fauna! We’ll get to explore mammal homes, discover their habits, learn tracking skills, and use trail cams and live traps to get a good look into their secretive lives.
