We are closely monitoring the evolving CDC recommendations and any requirements at the state and local level related to summer camp operations and what they mean for our camp programs at Baltimore Woods Nature Center. The safety of our campers is always of paramount concern.

It may be necessary for Baltimore Woods Nature Center to implement certain safety precautions and protocols consistent with guidance offered from the Centers for Disease Control, the New York State Department of Health and other public health agencies. If necessary, these measures may include physical distancing, daily health screenings, temperature checks, masking and other measures designed to provide protection against COVID-19 transmission and infection.

Campers will be required to bring a mask with them if a situation should arise when they need to wear one (for example, if someone else in their group develops symptoms or tests positive during the camp week). Any camper wishing to wear a mask even when not required will be supported in doing so.

These multi-layered strategies have helped us keep our campers safe over the past two years. We will keep in close communication with registered camp families regarding evolving COVID-19 safety precautions.

While camp has been somewhat different since 2020, the core values of our camp remain the same – the benefits of playing outside for children cannot be overestimated, and the personal connection with nature they develop at camp will last their whole lives.

Camp registration for all of Baltimore Woods camps is entirely ONLINE! We are excited to make the process convenient for you – it is fast, secure, and saves more than a few trees in the process.

Here’s how it works:

  1. To register your child for camp, click the “Register Now!” button above.
  2. You will be redirected to our secure registration portal operated by Active Network.
  3. Choose your camp sessions and fill out the forms. Camp sessions with availability will show up in the options to the left of your screen. You can register all your children at once – simply put the appropriate number of camps in your shopping cart.
  4.  You will be given the choice to purchase “Registration Protection” and “Active Refund” protection from Active Network. This is third-party registration insurance and is not required for registration. This purchase is NOT directly associated with Baltimore Woods Nature Center. See our FAQ section for information regarding our refund policies.
  5. Make your payment via credit card or EFT, review everything. EFT is also known as an “e-check”. Choosing this option helps us keep costs low as there are larger fees for credit card transactions.
  6. Create an account, if you don’t already have one. This will speed the process up in the future and allow you to make changes to your child’s information.
  7. You will receive instant email confirmation from Sue, our office manager. Be sure to save this email as it contains important information about the camp program, including a packing list.
  8. Upload your camper’s vaccination records into your camp account at least two weeks prior to your first session.

That’s it! We can’t wait to see you at camp!
