Magic of Summer

Week of August 8 – August 14, 2021

August is the last magical month of summer. It feels like an old friend who is preparing to leave  and I feel an urgency to spend as much time with them as possible, doing all the things we love!

As those last few weeks approach, I try to really appreciate all that summer has to offer. I’m not a morning person, but during the summer I try to be, getting up early with the first calls of the robins, hoping the enthusiasm they have for dawn will rub off on me (coffee helps). During the warm daylight hours I like to soak in the rays of the sun, rocking in my hammock, watching the bees and butterflies that flutter past. The evenings are my favorite, when I can sit with a cup of tea after a long day, watch the sky light up with colors as the sun sets and greet the bats as they emerge from their daytime roosts.

These moments are fleeting, like the season itself, but it’s important to me to take time to be mindful and present for all the magic of summer. How will you make the most of these last few weeks of summer? Share with us by emailing [email protected].
