As winter begins, the birds who stick around during colder months are becoming very active. This is an especially good time to practice sketching chickadees, woodpeckers, titmice, juncos, and other feathered friends who visit birdfeeders. In this program, we will learn about bird anatomy and movement through sketching taxidermy mounts and reference photos. Then, we’ll practice sketching some birds in action as they visit the Baltimore Woods feeders and other areas around the nature center.

This program is designed for adults.
Drawing materials will be provided, including waterproof sketching paper if necessary. In case we go for a brief outdoor exploration, consider bringing gloves that are warm while also allowing you to hold a pencil.
