Come one, come all to the Naturalist Field Days! This is a great opportunity for families to get outside and come to Baltimore Woods to hone your naturalist skills. As you follow the trail you’ll find self-guided naturalist stations with tools and prompts to complete fun activities, all while exploring the wildlife and plants found here at Baltimore Woods. Families will investigate animal crime scenes, enjoy some bird watching, learn about tracking, and more! At the end of the program you’ll check-in with our staff to receive your naturalist badge and take home a naturalist toolkit for future adventures at Baltimore Woods and beyond!

Sign up now for the Naturalist Field Days!

There will be self-guided naturalist stations set up in a round robin fashion along our trails. The path will be clearly marked indicating where the next station will be. Each station will have an activity focusing on a naturalist skill and are designed for the whole family – including both children and adults  – to participate in the fun! Stations will take approximately 7-10 min to complete and can accommodate up to 6 people. Instructions for how to complete the activity will be provided at each station. Staff members will be on hand to answer questions. This program will be entirely outside so dress for the weather!

The activity stations at this family program are designed for ages 2 and up!
Cost: $20 per adult; $10 per child (ages 3-17); Free for children ages 2 and under.

To enjoy the full program experience, we recommend that if you’re bringing more than three children, you should plan to have two adults in your group.

At Baltimore Woods Nature Center, the health and safety of our staff and visitors is of utmost importance. All in-person programming will follow best practices for keeping our participants safe, including physical distancing and wearing facial coverings.

We believe that all people should have the opportunity to spend time in nature. Partial financial assistance is available for this program. Please call our office at (315) 673-1350 for more information.
