Are you intrigued by the many shapes, sizes, and colors of insects and spiders? Through sketching, we can learn more about the incredible diversity of these creatures. Join us to practice catching creepy crawlies and to take an up-close look at portraying their lives on paper. Drawing materials and bug catching supplies will be provided, including waterproof sketching paper if necessary.

Learn how to sketch insects and spiders at this family program!

More details: We will be exploring on moderate terrain around the edges of the field adjacent to the Arboretum Trail.

Cultures across the world and throughout time are united in a fascination with the night sky. Humans have used stars to mark the passage of time, tell stories, build mythologies, and navigate across vast dark oceans. With powerful telescopes and a wealth of knowledge, Bob Piekiel is your tour guide to the stars and planets, revealing the secrets of the far away, inspiring us to think about how special our little green and blue ball in space is.

It gets dark late so let’s have a look at Venus’ best appearance for the year, and the 1st-quarter moon. This program is offered for free thanks to our Star Party Program Sponsor, Marcellus Smiles.

Experience a star party at Baltimore Woods!
