Baltimore Woods Puts Nature in Your Hands!
Baltimore Woods Nature Center in Marcellus, New York, is a not-for profit organization that has been connecting people with nature since 1966. Baltimore Woods fosters stewardship of our natural world through outdoor experiences and immersive programs that encourage children and adults to enrich their lives through personal connections to nature.
We offer six miles of hiking trails, year-round educational programs for all ages, on-site day camps, and an award-winning Nature in the City program that delivers nature education to children in elementary schools in the Syracuse City School District.
The Woods’ 270-acre preserve offers more than 6 miles of hiking trails that are open daily from dawn to dusk. Maps are available at the kiosks. The trails provide access to a variety of ecosystems, some of which can be reached via accessible trails. More information is available here.
The Interpretive Center features a gift shop and nature-themed art exhibits that change regularly. Restrooms are available here.
Baltimore Woods is on Bishop Hill Road about 1.5 miles southwest of the charming village of Marcellus.
Please note: We love dogs, but Baltimore Woods is a nature preserve and – sometimes – our beloved pets do not interact well with wild animals. Also, there are some rare and delicate native plants growing inches from our well-marked trails. We would hate to see them trampled. So, we ask that you stay on the trails and leave your pet safe at home when you visit us. Thank you!
