Baltimore Woods Nature Center and the Syracuse Poster Project are collaborating to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Nature Center! We’re thrilled to announce a haiku workshop led by local author Tim Carter on August 18 at 5:00pm at Baltimore Woods. Tim will be presenting a light-hearted workshop exploring haiku: what is it, where does it come from, and how does it work? We’ll look at some classic and contemporary examples, write some of our own as well, and hopefully take the spirit of haiku with us into our everyday lives. Tim Carter is the Director of Writing Workshops at the Writers Voice of CNY. He is the author of THE PIGS (Dead Mall Press) and REMAINS (Tiger Bark Press).

More Details: Baltimore Woods Nature Center and the Syracuse Poster project are excited to partner on this public art project that involves Baltimore Woods membership and the local community in developing a poster that commemorates Baltimore Woods and its importance in Central New York. Look for details about submitting your haiku to be considered for artist Katie Mulligan’s poster design to be unveiled in 2027! Katie Mulligan is a freelance illustrator and educator from Syracuse. Her work focuses largely on the natural world. Katie has illustrated several posters for the Poster Project and you can view them at posterproject.org
