Sketching offers a fascinating window into nature’s beauty and diversity. In this series for adults, we will sharpen our observation skills with fun exercises to learn about proportions, shading, texture, and colors. Each session includes an exploration around the preserve and sketching along the trails or back in the program room. During winter or inclement weather, sketching will take place in the Interpretive Center. All sketching materials are provided, including pencils, colored pencils, pens, and paper. You are welcome to bring your own supplies if you prefer. We encourage attending multiple monthly sessions to build your skills, but this is not required. In this session, we will sketch wildflowers and ferns. This is the perfect time of year to learn about drawing a variety of plants as spring flowers are blooming and ferns unfurling.
More Details: We will go for a brief adventure to the Faust Garden for our sketching. Please bring a small portable camp chair if you have one. This trail is relatively flat and is one of our most accessible trails. If it is raining, we may do some sketching using waterproof paper or sketch from photographs inside the Interpretive Center. This program is designed for ages 14+.Space is limited. Online pre-registration is required.
