Lake Ontario offers a rich environment to observe wintering waterfowl and other birds. We will caravan by car along the lakeshore in search of these birds, stopping at locations such as Breitbeck Park, Oswego Harbor, and Fair Haven Beach State Park. Through getting to know local waterfowl, we will enrich our knowledge of bird migration and learn about the importance of Lake Ontario along birds’ journeys.
More Details: This program is for adults. Space is limited. Online pre-registration is required. This program will involve traveling to various birding locations by car, starting at the Fairhaven Beach State Park beach parking lot. Please be sure to dress in layers including a hat and warm gloves, as it can be very cold and windy in this area. Binoculars and spotting scopes will be available, or bring your own!
