Sketching offers a fascinating window into nature’s beauty and diversity. In this series for kids, we will sharpen our observation skills with fun exercises to learn about proportions, shading, texture, and colors. Each session includes an exploration around the preserve and sketching along the trails or back in the program room. During winter or inclement weather, sketching will take place in the Interpretive Center. All sketching materials are provided, including pencils, colored pencils, pens, and paper. You are welcome to bring your own supplies if you prefer. We encourage attending multiple monthly sessions to build your skills, but this is not required. In our first session, we will collect natural curiosities like pinecones, sticks, and winter weeds and bring them back to sketch in the Interpretive Center.
