Naturalist’s Bumble

From May-October, each Wednesday from 9-10AM, join us for a FREE Naturalist’s Bumble!

“To see something new, take the path you walked yesterday.” Or not! There is so much to discover in the springtime forests and meadows at Baltimore Woods. Join one of our naturalists and other like-minded folk on a relaxing weekly “bumble” in search of whatever nature has to offer. From birds and flowers to insects and ferns, each excursion is sure to reveal something new to appreciate along our beautiful trails.

This program is designed for adults and to be adaptable for accessibility needs. Our trails range in difficulty from wheel-chair accessible crushed stone paths to very difficult steep trails with loose soil, exposed roots, and steps. Please call ahead if you have concerns and we’ll be sure to choose a path that works for everyone in the group. No pre-registration is required.

August Dates: August 5, 12, 19, 26

Armchair Birder’s Club (Project Feederwatch)

Starting Wednesdays, November 4th through April 28th, everyone is welcome to gather at the Interpretive Center bird feeding station for a combination of conversation, refreshments, and a relaxing armchair birding experience. Our feeders attract a variety of birds throughout the winter, and are part of Cornel Lab of Ornithology’s Project Feederwatch. Our observations will be submitted as part of their important ongoing citizen science-based research.

There will be binoculars, field guides, and other information that pertains to our feathered friends’ natural behavior available. Baltimore Woods staff will also be present to answer your questions. This program will take place inside our Interpretive Center. No pre-registration is required.

This program is a throwback to 1987!
