What is the A-Team?
The A-Team is a group of volunteers that meet every Wednesday at 9:00am to work on stewardship and maintenance projects. The A-Team is constantly working on projects to maintain the land around The Woods, and make it enjoyable for all of our visitors. Their weekly tasks typically include trail maintenance, event set-up, gardening, invasive species removal, mowing, and more! They have built amenities such as our outdoor pavilion, the back deck of our Interpretive Center, a bridge over the stream on the Valley Trail, the Zen Garden, and the Pole Barn. They help to make the trails safer and easier to navigate, and contribute to the removal of invasive species, which allows the landscape and wildlife to continue thriving at The Woods! A-Team volunteers do not have to be available every single week. There are typically many different tasks available to do and volunteers can select what they would like to help with based on their skills and physical capabilities.
Wednesday Mornings at The Woods!
What better place to be at 9:00am on a Wednesday than Baltimore Woods, getting some fresh air and contributing to the management and improvement of the land? It is a great way to meet hard-working, dedicated people, who share your care for the natural world! Stop by for coffee, snacks and socializing from 9:00-9:30am (all volunteers are welcome even if you are not on the A-Team) and then work with the A-Team from 9:30am-12:00pm.
Contact [email protected] or come to a Wednesday morning meeting to speak with our
Director of Stewardship, David DuBois.
Baltimore Woods runs on volunteer steam, and the donation of your time to help our organization run smoothly is always appreciated! If you don’t have spare time to give, perhaps you would like to donate an item from our wish list or make a monetary donation!
