Sketching offers a fascinating window into nature’s beauty and diversity. In this series for older children and adults, we will sharpen our observation skills with fun exercises to learn about proportions, shading, texture, and colors. All sketching materials are provided, and you are welcome to bring your own supplies if you prefer. We encourage attending multiple monthly sessions to build your skills, but this is not required.
As the seasons are changing, many mammals are active and preparing for winter. This is a great time to practice sketching the deer, squirrels, rabbits, and other mammals who call Baltimore Woods home. In this program, we will learn about mammal anatomy and movement through sketching taxidermy mounts and reference photos in the Interpretive Center.
More Details: If the weather is particularly nice and there is group interest, we may venture onto nearby trails such as the Harrison Loop and Faust Garden Trail for some field sketching. These trails are relatively flat and are some of our most accessible trails. This program is designed for adults and older children (10+). Space is limited. Online pre-registration is required.
