SUMMARY:Nature Sketching: Reptiles and Amphibians
DESCRIPTION:In spring\, reptiles and amphibians are very active\, making this the perfect time to practice getting to know them through sketching! We will meet at the lower parking lot and walk up to Phillip’s Pond to observe (and maybe even catch!) critters such as frogs\, tadpoles\, newts\, and even turtles! Then we’ll sketch together along the banks enjoying the sights and sounds of the pond. Photo references will also be available. Sketching offers a fascinating window into nature’s beauty and diversity. In this series for adults\, we will sharpen our observation skills with fun exercises to learn about proportions\, shading\, texture\, and colors. Each session includes an exploration around the preserve and sketching along the trails or back in the program room. During winter or inclement weather\, sketching will take place in the Interpretive Center. All sketching materials are provided\, including pencils\, colored pencils\, pens\, and paper. You are welcome to bring your own supplies if you prefer. We encourage attending multiple monthly sessions to build your skills\, but this is not required.\n\n\n\nClick to register for Nature Sketching: Reptiles and Amphibians\n\n\nMore Details: This program includes a walk to Phillips’ Pond along the Boundary Trail. Here there are some difficult sections of trail with hills\, loose gravel\, exposed roots\, and some grass. This program is designed for ages 14+. Space is limited. Online pre-registration is required.
