Grab your friends and join us for a scavenger hunt throughout the preserve! \nThe scavenger hunt is a self-guided program that takes place entirely outside on the trails\, so be sure to dress warmly and come ready to hike through rolling hills. Meet at the pavilion at 10:00 to pick up your scavenger hunt clues and expect to take at least 1.5-2 hours to solve all of the clues. \nThis program is intended for ages 5 and up. DESCRIPTION:Be a part of the first restoration project on the newest part of the Baltimore Woods Preserve! Join the Baltimore Woods Nature Center Stewardship Team and Habitat Gardeners of Central New York to plant tree seeds\, tree seedlings\, and protect them inside our new 5 acre restoration fence on the newly acquired property. This is the first exciting step to transform what is currently an open field to a diverse oak forest to create space for future trails and programs – and to be enjoyed by you and our community for years to come! \nYou can also attend our free Earth Day community event in the afternoon. Learn more about the 2022 Earth Day Celebration at Baltimore Woods Nature Center! \nThis event has projects for both adults and children. Please bring your own shovels and/or trowels. Dress accordingly\, as you will be working in muddy conditions. Participants should plan to arrive by 9AM and should park in the staff parking lot.

DESCRIPTION:The pond at Baltimore Woods is a storytelling superorganism that gives life\, takes it away\, and serves as a historical monument of our preserve. Together we will explore the pond as a real-world laboratory to learn about its living creatures\, physical properties\, chemical processes\, and natural history. If there was ever a time to learn about our pond\, now is the time! \nThis program is also being offered on Friday\, June 17. \nRegister to explore the pond at Baltimore Woods!\nMore details:  Please dress for the weather. This program is also offered on Friday\, June 17. Pre-registration is required and due to limited capacities associated with the pandemic\, walk-ins cannot be accommodated. At Baltimore Woods Nature Center\, the health and safety of our staff and visitors is of utmost importance.
