DESCRIPTION:Words have the power to stretch our imaginations and deepen our connection to nature. In this program\, join us to explore Baltimore Woods in a new way through nature writing! With writing prompts and activities\, we’ll hone our skills of observation and get our creative minds running. Writing materials will be provided\, or you are welcome to bring your own notebook\, pens\, or pencils. \nClick to register and experience Baltimore Woods through nature writing!\nMore details: We will meet in the lower parking lot for this program. This program will include a hike on some of our most difficult trails\, including narrow and steep sections with steps\, roots\, and loose soil. At several locations\, we will stop and sit on natural surfaces such as dirt\, grass\, or logs. Please feel free to bring a portable chair or mat to sit on if desired. A portable restroom will be available to use at the start and end of the program. \nThis program is designed for adults.

Menzies for an intimate exploration of Woodlands and Water: Paintings of Meaningful Places\, a nature-inspired collection of oil paintings on display at Baltimore Woods Nature Center. Led by art-gallery coordinator Karen Jean Smith\, participants will get an up-close look at a few of the featured oil paintings\, learn more from Diane about the inspiration and process behind the work\, and share their own personal stories or experiences that Diane’s artwork inspires. \nArtists and nature-lovers alike will enjoy learning more about the artistic process and engage with this collection in a unique way. Attendees are encouraged to view the virtual gallery\, now available on the Baltimore Woods website. \nProgram is recommended for ages 15 and up.
